According to incomplete statistics from the New Strategy Mobile Robotics Industry Research Institute, 26 new products were launched by AGV/AMR companies worldwide in the third quarter of 2024. These products include unmanned forklifts, AMRs, compound robots, and inspection robots. Domestic companies launched 16 new products, while international companies launched 10.
Among the various new products, most were compound robots and unmanned forklifts. In terms of navigation technology, natural navigation AMRs were dominant. From an application perspective, there was an increase in new products focusing on outdoor scenarios compared to the previous quarter. Looking at domestic and international products, domestic companies demonstrated diverse innovation directions, offering a wide range of new products covering various application scenarios. In contrast, international companies primarily focused on indoor logistics and handling, with an emphasis on enhancing the autonomous decision-making capabilities of robots.
Specifically for unmanned forklifts, the new products continued the trend towards smaller and more compact designs, with subterranean forklifts being the mainstream in this quarter’s product development. The number of compound robot products also increased compared to the previous quarter, with a wider range of application scenarios.
Overall, the major manufacturers are still in the phase of improving the practicality and stability of their new products. The primary goals are to expand application scenarios and ensure smooth delivery. As the mobile robotics industry continues to evolve, product innovation will become more segmented, leading to more products that combine practicality with unique industry characteristics.
