Overloaded Class Technical Specifications + Wireless Communication Design Standards
“2023 CMR Industry Alliance Group Standard Offline Discussion Meeting,” organized by the China Mobile Robot (AGV/AMR) Industry Alliance and hosted by TÜV Süd Group, was successfully held in Tianjin on September 19th! More than 60 technical experts from over 40 companies, including Deputy Directors Gao Feng, Wang Yong, and Liu Yang of the CMR Industry Alliance Standardization Technical Committee, and Alliance expert Professor Ai Changsheng from Jinan University, participated in this meeting.
The specific content discussions of the two group standards (“Technical Specifications for Heavy-Duty Industrial Mobile Robots” and “Design Specifications for Wireless Communication in Industrial Mobile Robots”) were presided over by Deputy Director Gao Feng of the Standards Committee. Experts from participating units in each standard had extensive discussions on the initial draft content of the two group standards and agreed on revision suggestions.
The establishment of standards is crucial for every company in the industry. In the process of formulating standards, the alliance adheres to principles of openness, inclusivity, fairness, and appropriateness. On one hand, it takes into account the diverse demands of companies and the attributes of both international and domestic standards. On the other hand, it is committed to promoting the continuous and healthy development of China’s mobile robot industry, supporting technological and product innovation, and possessing a certain degree of forward-looking vision and inclusiveness.
In recent years, the demand for heavy-duty AGVs has been steadily increasing across various industries. However, as the payload capacity increases, heavy-duty mobile robots require higher technical requirements and supporting capabilities, leading to higher research and development thresholds. The formulation of the “Group Standard for Industrial Application Mobile Robots – Heavy-Duty Class Design Specification” can further promote the standardized development of the heavy-duty mobile robot industry and deepen its applications.
Simultaneously, with the advent of the era of intelligence, the development of wireless communication technology for mobile robots will bring significant opportunities and challenges to product applications, holding great importance for the industry’s growth. In this context, the formulation of the “Group Standard for Industrial Application Mobile Robots – Wireless Communication Design Specification” is imperative.
In addition, during this conference, Mr. Li Hongfeng, Information Security Technology Manager at TÜV Süd Group, delivered a presentation on the theme of “New Challenges in AGV System Information Security.” He discussed the information security issues related to intelligent robots such as AGV/AMR and their components in factory applications.
Currently, the alliance is steadily advancing the development of the two group standards, with plans to officially release them by the end of 2023. We also look forward to the rapid implementation of these two new group standards in 2023, which will contribute to the industry’s standardization and healthy development. In the future, the CMR Industry Alliance will continue to organize the development of more group standards to contribute to the industry’s standardization and healthy development.
